Your angels have a tough message for you today, one that may be hard to hear: some addiction has begun to affect you spiritually, emotionally, and financially. This is not meant to be accusatory; your angels are just worried about you.
They’ve seen you struggling and want you to remember that they’re always on your side, just waiting for you to request help. With the guidance of your angels you’ll be able to steer yourself towards the good and find more uplifting hobbies!
The costs of your addiction far outweigh the benefits.
It may have started slowly, but you may be sliding down a steep slope in this addiction. Your angels want you to take a step back and analyze it, however.
How does it fit into your life? How do you feel when you’re doing it and then how do you feel afterwards? Is your life better for doing it? Take a moment to meditate on your angels and request their assistance to see your addiction clearly and without emotion before you answer these questions.
Now, take it slowly. How does it fit into your life? Like online gambling, it may have started as something to do in your spare time, a guilty pleasure that you don’t talk about now because you know it’s eating away at you.
Your spirit knows before your brain does what’s causing you harm, that’s why it’s so important to be intune with yourself and your angels, so that you can catch it immediately and erase it from your life.
The next question, how you feel during and after, are both extremely important to meditate on.
Let’s keep using online gambling as an example. While you’re playing a hand of cards or putting coins in the slots, how do you feel? Exhilarated? High on adrenaline? Like you can’t lose? Those are very addictive feelings and can cause you to keep coming back for more day after day regardless of the consequences.
On the other hand, how do you feel after you’ve played? Embarrassed? Disappointed? Angry? The letdown from online gambling can be severe and can cause emotional and spiritual turmoil that will spread from you to the people around you. You might try to hide what you’re doing from your friends and family but you may still lash out at them when you hit a losing streak.
Is your life better for doing it? Ask your angels to open your eyes to the effects that your addiction has on your life. For example, as an online gambler, you may have begun sinking too much money into games or you may be blowing off your friends and family to spend more time at the slots.
When a hobby becomes an addiction your behaviors start to change, from enjoying an activity to needing to do the activity. Your angels want you to know that you’ve been harming yourself by continuing down this path and they’re reaching out to you to pull you back into their loving embrace.
Turn to your angels to find a more positive way to spend your time.
There are plenty of hobbies that you can become invested in! Keeping your hands busy and your thoughts on your angels will help reduce the cravings for your addiction as well as open up new experiences that you may have otherwise not had. Try physical activity when you feel the cravings coming on; moving your body will distract you and release endorphins in your head to combat the need.
Also try volunteering in your community to keep yourself occupied or setting up a get together with your friends to keep your mind off of it. And don’t forget the plethora of hobbies out there just waiting for you to give them a try! Perhaps you’ll find you like painting or building websites and will turn to these things instead of being fully engulfed in your addiction.
Remember your angels are always right beside you when you need them, waiting to offer assistance and a clear perspective. You don’t ever have to fight alone.
