From Ingrid, 59:
My husband and I were visiting family in the mountains up north over Christmas one year. We went out to chop down a tree. It’s a family tradition. But this year a storm was rolling in, so some of us decided to stay home with the little ones.
About an hour after the others left we heard thunder rolling in. A few minutes later lightning struck and the power went out. I went straight to my knees and prayed to Michael to keep the family safe.
When the others eventually came back they told us how an avalanche just missed them. When I told my husband what I’d done he laughed and said, “We always cut the tree where it’s safe. The kids just haven’t learned where that is yet.”
